A close to me just called to tell me 25 people (!!) in her extended family have Covid in Florida. 2 have died. Yes, they are Latino. Yes, many work in jobs where they can’t stay home. Some have been forced to go back to work with threats like losing their job or seniority.

The inequality in this country. The view that certain races and ethnicities are disposable and are there to serve and unless they do they deserve what happens to them is why we are seeing the demographic toll of this pandemic.

We cannot segregate our way out of this pandemic. What affects some of us, impacts all of us. It’s enraging what is happening to communities of color.
