Ok as my first public facing act as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Student Financial Aid - I'm reaching out to my network for those interested in serving as an Assistant Editor for the journal.

JSFA is not ONLY looking for researchers to be Assistant Editors - we are also looking for strong practitioners! The journal highly values research that speaks to those practicing. If you know someone, please @ them or DM this thread.

JSFA is reloading and we have some short-term and long term goals.

Short Term =

1. Reduce review and turnaround times

2. Expand reviewer pool

3. Train up advanced doc students and Jr. Researchers

4. Develop an online presence

5. Encourage more submissions

(3)
Long Term:

1. Develop an Impact Factor

2. Create more special issues surrounding major topics

3. Be know as the place to go for research that speaks to practice on issues surround student financial aid.

(4)
This is a great opportunity to build upon the foundation of an established journal and on the shoulders of many researchers already known in the field to further a journal that was already on the way up!

(5)
We also aim to bolster our Rising Professionals Board. We are seeking entry to mid-level practitioners and doc students.

The editors will spend time coaching you though the publication and reviewing processes - so you're ready to hit the ground running! @AERADivJGradNet

If you have any questions or comments @ me here or DM me.
