One thing you should know is that I really love tarot cards. I love the process, I love the symbolism, I love the art — I just think it's a really amazing collective visual language, and I love assigning characters to the major arcana.

Which is to say: THE UNTAMED TAROT.
There are only 22 cards in the Major Arcana, so some beloved characters (notably the juniors) are probably stars of the Minor Arcana (Page of Cups, Seven of Coins, that sort of thing). There are semi-standard poses and images for each card, which always make for great art. So:
I. The Fool: Wei Wuxian
UPRIGHT: Beginnings, innocence, spontaneity, a free spirit
REVERSED: Holding back, recklessness, risk-taking
II. The Magician: Jin Guangyao
UPRIGHT: Manifestation, resourcefulness, power, inspired action

III. The High Priestess: Wen Qing
UPRIGHT: Intuition, sacred knowledge, divine feminine, the subconscious mind

UPRIGHT: Femininity, beauty, nature, nurturing, abundance
REVERSED: Creative block, dependence on others
V. The Emperor: Jin Guangshan

REVERSED: Domination, excessive control, lack of discipline, inflexibility
VI. The Hierophant: Lan Qiren
UPRIGHT: Spiritual wisdom, religious beliefs, conformity, tradition, institutions
REVERSED: Personal beliefs, freedom, challenging the status quo
VII. The Lovers: Jin Zixuan and Suihua
UPRIGHT: Love, harmony, relationships, values alignment, choices
REVERSED: Self-love, disharmony, imbalance, misalignment of values
VIII. The Chariot: Wen Ruohan
UPRIGHT: Control, willpower, success, action, determination
REVERSED: Self-discipline, opposition, lack of direction

REVERSED: Inner strength, self-doubt, low energy, raw emotion

XI. Wheel of Fortune: Nie Huaisang

REVERSED: Personal transformation, fear of change, averting disaster
XVIII. The Star: Wen Ning
UPRIGHT: Hope, faith, purpose, renewal, spirituality
REVERSED: Lack of faith, despair, self-trust, disconnection
XIX. The Moon: Su She
UPRIGHT: Illusion, fear, anxiety, subconscious, intuition
REVERSED: Release of fear, repressed emotion, inner confusion
XX. The Sun: A-Yuan

REVERSED: Inner child, feeling down, overly optimistic
