my mom was talking abt how my parents got good grades and whatever and i was like wtf why did u both do so well why is our family full of academic nerds and then i remembered i had better grades than them and am attending the same uni they did and made all my first choices,,,

me: man i hate smart ppl
my academic achievements: u are smart ppl
me: that is beside the point

sorry to act like an elite on main but considering how stupid my personality is i always forget i am allegedly gifted or whatever and every time i remember i have to reconsider my identity

i really do not consider academic achievements something which makes you smart tho? like yes i do think i am pretty smart but that has nothing to do with my grades (which have dropped btw) and its pretty interesting to think abt

i have noticed i define intelligence very differently from a lot of ppl in my family... like including extended family as well i feel like a lot of them have the view that academically educated ppl are always smarter and more capable? and im always just? huh?

and idk if its partially bc of the fact that i dont consider THEM particularly smart? i mean they say so themselves and always have said that i am the smartest member of the family what with being gifted and all

not to mention i have witnessed a lot of their stupidity first-hand -_-

ig they didnt rly set a good example? so ive always thought that educated ppl are just as capable of being stupid as everyone else

NO BUT JOKES ASIDE there are lots of different ways of being smart and what education you get depends on a lot of things so thinking youre superior to others just bc u have a certain level of education is very close-minded

like i never had any interest in higher education and sure now im studying at like the best uni in the country in the field bc i kinda got in by accident NEVERTHELESS it was never something i intended bc! i like music! wow! thats what ive wanted to do since i was a child

and guess what! if i end up doing music and dropping out of uni! i will still be as smart as i have always been! wow! who wouldve thought!

all im saying is it is very bold of people who admit themselves they arent as smart as me to look down on people whom i dont

now that i think of it it is very sexy of me to be the smartest in my family yet reject all of their academically elitist ideas <3
