Rui Patrício’s gradual improvement has flown under the radar.

Last season, he would panic when the ball came to him, and kick the ball out of play.

This season, his pass completion rate has increased by almost 10%, and his clean sheet rate increased by 16%.

Not only this, but his save success has increased to 70%, whilst also conceding eight less goals in the same amount of matches as last season.

His high claims, sweeper clearances and throw-outs have increased by over 10%, showing his willingness to start quick counter-attacks.
At the age of 32, and still in his prime goalkeeping years, Rui is still willing to learn, adopt and improve the style of playing out from the back.

He also set the Wolves record for most PL clean sheets in a season this year.

A truly underrated part of a growing Wolves side.
