Last night, a teacher on this platform stated she loves and supports all students while referring to me as “the black queer” in nearly the same breath.

This kind of dehumanizing language is not only absolutely ridiculous in 2020, but has no place in education.
I don’t need an apology. What I need is for folx who display such ignorance and resistance to change to never step into a classroom.

This behavior is extremely dangerous to our fellow colleagues and students and shouldn’t be taken lightly. I’m going to take a cue from AOC here:
Teaching students of color does not make you a decent person.

Saying you “don’t see color” does not make you a decent person.

ACCEPTING ACCOUNTABILITY MAKES YOU A DECENT PERSON.

And if you are called out for problematic behavior and refuse to learn, then YOU are the problem.
I tried my best but had to bow out of the nonsense. Thank you all for holding her accountable so I did not have to expend any more energy on this. I appreciate you all so much.

Now, it’s time for this “black queer” to make pancakes with her amazing wife. đŸ’…đŸœ
Oh, and if you want receipts you know I always keep them.

Her account is locked but you know, screenshots and all that. The internet is forever. Her tweets are also protected now but she still follows me on this very gay very Black account.
This thread is picking up so I’m going to be basic and drop a promo.

My wife and I created a scholarship for POC and BIPOC emerging educators during the student teaching semester.
