#USPS update from carriers I've spoken to this week:

1. They're 100% asking for everyone to keep calling about the HEROES Act.

Remember: the Senate GOP hasn't moved on what the House passed in May. They're struggling on a lesser proposal: https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/07/republicans-debating-second-stimulus-package.html…. https://twitter.com/Celeste_pewter/status/1285009467336056832
2. So, now is absolutely the time to keep pushing Senators on the HEROES Act.

- Put pressure on GOP Senators especially, particularly endangered ones.
- Remind them critical communities need access to USPS to get social security, their stimulus checks, etc.
- And before you ask - this is 100% about us exploiting their vulnerabilities to get them to vote on this bill.

We need to continue fighting to regain the Senate, but USPS also needs an urgent infusion of cash to be voted on by THIS Congress, to not have problems come fall.
(Rewording ^ since I want to make it clear that I want every GOP Senator out.)

3. I think it's probably obvious by now, but the carriers I spoke to have heard talk (though nothing confirmed yet) that Trump's Postmaster General might try and combine routes to save $.
4. And please:

- Keep buying stamps,
- Keep checking in with your carriers (as much as you're able) and ask if they need anything.

The mail carriers I know are incredibly cheerful AND tough, but they're working difficult jobs during a global pandemic.
One of the mail carriers told me they would love it if their cars had caddies with hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies (and for this carrier, a mini-fan), so they can make sure to keep sanitizing during the day + stay hydrated.

But their branches just don't have the funding.
Are you in a position to help your local branch by putting together some basic PPE care packages?

Can you reach out and ask if they need basic things like Gatorade? Even as we're pushing electeds, I think we can combine our efforts and make these small differences too.
