You know what I think is great about ff2? The protagonists aren’t any characters chosen by a deity to save the world/are of royalty etc etc. they are normal villagers who were dragged into the tides of war and willingly rebel against the empire. +

ff2 is much less well,, fantasy than most other (maybe even all) ffs and it’s a tragic story if you look behind the eh writing. Keep in my mind that the game first released for nes, y’all can’t expect the game to be as good as the later entries. +

I personally believe that a proper remake could do so many wonders to this game and it could easily become one of the best ffs. The story is smth else, in a good way. The characters deserve more lore and characterization in general. +

the gameplay needs a change, and I am sure SE would be aware of that if they ever were to consider a remake. The gameplay system is tiresome. I know that SE wanted to make smth different with it, but they executed it poorly. +

LIKE I KNOW that a remake will probably NEVER happen bc y’all like to debunk an extremely old game so early on, I know it has remasters but remasters are remasters, not remakes. I honestly really want SE to consider remaking one of the first 6 games soon +

with 6 or 5 being the likeliest, since 6 is popular and Kitase said in an interview that he’d like to remake 5 next, which isn’t guaranteed obviously. The older pre-ff7 games deserve some love too man.
