The Divine Feminine: A Thread
All throughout history, societies have been predominantly patriarchal. But the point of this thread is not to make a political statement. I am speaking objectively when I say that for the most part, this world has been, and continues to be, run by groups of men.
However, I believe there is an occult reason for this. I don’t believe there is some secret evil plan to hold women down, rather, there is a secret evil plan to hold everyone down regardless of gender, race, and religion, and it deals with the suppression of our true nature.
According to the Kybalion, a book that summarizes the teachings of the ancient Egyptian priest Hermes Trismegistus, there are seven main Principles that govern the universe. These Principles are Mentalism, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause & Effect, and Gender.
The Principle of Gender states everything in the universe has masculine and feminine properties. Nothing can be created without these two aspects. Masculine energy initiates a project and feminine energy brings it into fruition.
Hermeticists warn that the Principle of Gender should not degrade into Phallicism, or the veneration of sexual organs. However, we see this happening today in the form of phallic architecture. This is the work of Freemasons who practice a perverted form of Hermetics.
The Masons have erected obelisks all over the world at centers of power, and supposedly, they represent Osiris’ phallus. According to Masonic teachings and Egyptian mythology, Osiris was murdered by his brother and chopped up into 14 pieces.
The pieces were then scattered all over Egypt. When Osiris’ wife heard the news, she went looking for the pieces in order to reassemble her husband. She could find all of them except one. His penis. So she made a new one out of gold. Obelisks are said to symbolize this story.
The Kyablion stresses the importance of having a balanced gender. Ideally, one should not be too masculine or too feminine. According to Hermetic philosophy, this is one of the keys to enlightenment. But what would this look like? And how can one do this in an unbalanced world?
To become a balanced human being, one must undergo the psychological process of individuation. This process requires uniting the feminine unconscious with the masculine ego. But this does not come naturally to us because our culture puts an unhealthy emphasis on the ego.
One can see the manifestation of excessive masculine energy, or ego, not only in the form of the patriarchy, but also in the form of the military industrial complex that aims to dominate nations with brute force. If we don’t reach a place of equilibrium we will destroy ourselves.
Civilization’s overly masculine tendencies are also causing harm to Mother Earth. Rather than living in harmony with nature, a manifestation of the divine feminine, we seek to conquer it. If we don’t destroy ourselves in war, we will die when there are no trees left to cut down.
According to Gnostic myths, the soul of the world is a woman. She is known as Sophia or Wisdom. Our souls, like our unconscious minds, were also said to be feminine. These ideas were mostly forgotten due to the Gnostic persecution carried out by the Fathers of the early Church.
Some speculate that among the many books taken out of the Bible, some were Gnostic scriptures. If this is true, what would be the reasoning? Perhaps the Bible was manipulated by the Fathers of the early Church in order to erase the Goddess from history and hide empowering truths.
Many places in the past were theocratic, meaning they had governments ruled by priests. Is it possible they didn’t want the masses having access to enlightening knowledge in order to control them? The Gnostics believed divinity was in everyone, not just a small group of holy men.
The Goddess was present in many ancient myths, but is absent in today’s dominant religions such as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. These religions worship The Father but ignore The Mother. Ironically, these belief systems are the cause of much of the world’s violence.
In the past, spiders were often symbolic of the Mother Goddess. In ancient Egypt, the spider was associated with the goddess Neith, the weaver of destiny. Hopi mythology speaks of the Spider Grandmother. She acts as a guide, helping humans travel to higher worlds.
Hints of the feminine spider as the weaver of destiny can still be seen in our own culture. For example, in the movie Charlotte’s Web, a spider changes a pig’s fate when she hears it will be slaughtered. She writes messages in her web that change the owner’s mind.
However, due to the repression of the divine feminine, spiders have been mostly demonized in modern times. This can be seen in more recent traditions. For example, in Greek mythology, the gods turned a woman into a spider as a form of punishment.
In Japanese folklore there is a being know as the Jorōgumo, a giant demonic shape shifting spider. The Jorōgumo is said to be capable of transforming into a beautiful woman in order to lure its prey. It’s name translates to prostitute spider.
The prostitute spider motif can be seen in our own culture as well. For example in the movie Enemy, a man who fears the divine feminine, more specifically in the form of female sexuality, is plagued by spider imagery. At the end of the movie he even watches a woman turn into one.
When female energy is suppressed it becomes destructive rather than creative. A mother‘s love can nurture a child, but if her energy is unbalanced, her love will consume them. The devouring mother archetype is illustrated quite well in the movie Coraline.
However, it seems the divine feminine is making itself known again. All over the world, feminist and environmentalist movements are gaining traction. I believe this is due to the transition into the Age of Aquarius, an age characterized by rising sea levels.
I believe there are messengers, or people I call resonators, who have come to aid us in this transition. A resonator is someone who’s life seems to synchronistically tell us a story. For example, Jim Carrey seems to resonate with the archetype of the Green Man, or Trickster.
Another person I truly believe is a resonator is Mac Miller. I believe he resonates with the archetype of the Water Bearer, a symbol of the Aquarian age. Before his death, he released an album called Swimming, and before that, he released The Divine Feminine.
Mac Miller was born a Capricorn, meaning his ruling planet was Saturn, the planet occult writer Helena Blavatsky considered to be king of the Aquarian Age. Ironically, Mac’s ascendant sign, or the face he showed the world, was also Aquarius.
At the time of Mac’s birth, Saturn was in Aquarius as well. Astrologically speaking, this meant his life’s greatest challenge would be changing the status quo. I believe he came here to bring new ideas into mainstream consciousness.
Mac seemed to prophesy his own death in the song Brand Name when he said “To everyone that sell me drugs, don’t mix it with that bullshit, I hopin' not to join the twenty seven club.” He died at the age of 26 from an alleged drug overdose.
Strangely enough, roughly every 26 years, Saturn returns to the same place in the sky it was when you were born. Even more strange is the fact that his debut album, Blue Slide Park, has exactly 26 visible triangles on the cover art.
After Mac’s death, the album Circles was released. The music video for Good News, a single from the album, contains Buddhist imagery. I believe these visuals along with the name of the album is an allusion to the cyclic nature of reality.
Coincidentally, Mac’s 2014 track, Funeral, has a sound bite from Hunter S. Thompson that says “I know what happens to you, me and everyone else when they supposedly die. It’s this passage around the great loop.”
I believe whether Mac knew it or not, he was sending us a message through his art and subconsciously preparing us for the changes that are to come. I believe the consciousness of humanity is evolving and great secrets are being revealed.
One of these great secrets, covered up by the church long ago, is the feminine nature of the soul, the Mother in the Trinity. If we ever want to advance as a species, we must acknowledge all aspects of ourselves and integrate them into one healthy whole. Thanks for reading.
Rest In Peace Mac Miller
