The two most important charts in the world

Our eternal fate aside, basically nothing else matters compared to what these two charts depict.

No other facts about the present, no other facts about history, no other facts about the economy or society or politics.

I hope people can realise just how important these last two centuries of human existence are, and just how *incomprehensibly* different – for the better – they are compared to all which came before them.

We're finally doing well as a species.

This is a precious gift.

The only appropriate response is to recognise what it is that made those charts possible - and celebrate, preserve, and further them.
