ok so first of to start of this thread I just want to say over the past couple of years cultural appropriation has increased in cpop and fans continually dismiss it and it’s very sad to see as a black cpop stan

a lot of non black stans are choosing to stay ignorant and choose to ignore the current issues I barely saw any of them speak on blm over the past few months

so with that said I’m gonna show you some photos of ca on idols and why they need to be talked about

first to start of the thing that made me even decide to make this thread was yao chen’s ca which happened in the last 72 hours I still see very few people addressing it

the worst part is that I kinda felt yao chen would be the first one in r1se to do ca which is dishes that I would even have to think that it would happen

next we have huang minghao I remember waking up when these photos dropped and I was so disappointed like out of anyone I wasn’t expecting justin like his makeup and fit was cute but the hair ruined it he would’ve done fine without it

next we have chengcheng I almost forgot abt him but then I remembered the durag which I was just like ??? bc durag ca is the most pointless it’s not made for your hair texture and then for the dreads I literally almost forgot just bc stans covered it up that well

and as you can see it’s not working out with his hair texture at all and should’ve been avoided

next we have xiao gui what bothers me abt him is that he does it so often and everyone tells him it doesn’t look good on him but he still does it anyways he does it so often that his album cover has him with dreads and he needs to be stop bc it just doesn’t look good

these are literally the photos that come up when you search ciao gui dreads and they’re not all from the same time that says something

then we have luhan and whew chile was his terrible it was a mess it did not work for his hair at all and then what’s worse is the caption where it says “dirty braids” the fact that’s what they call dreadlocks in china is disrespectful and offensive in itself

next we have yibo cornrows from eoeo era this shit looked so bad but the parts were at least clean ig but that’s not the point it did not look good and it looked like his hair was finna fall out

like this was not it yibo no no no the cornrows were bad and he added the braids in it just got worse throw the whole look away

I bet you thought it was only finna be the boys but nope we have joyce chu with her wannabe dreads/braids idk even know what to call these but they don’t look right

and next we have g.e.m our iron vocal she really went out and said yep this works like no it looks terrible with her hair texture and it’s not doing the hairstyles justice at all

and then we have jolin tsai her outfits are always stunning and amazing I don’t know why she felt the need to add a dash of cultural appropriation into it where it wasn’t needed

and then I was scrolling through jolin weibo and saw this idol with ca idek who it is but his dreads don’t look good and he need to take them out

bringing it back to the boys with yuehua of oner I hated this so much like howcome lingchao and ziyang can look normal but you decided yeh no.... plus this nigga lived abroad before what’s his excuse

you telling me wherever he went ain’t nobody tell him why this is wrong

then we have me girl zhong xin from chuang 2020 like sis looks so cute without the bow braids what was the reason they ain’t look cute

like it’s not cool and it’s not for your hip hop aesthetic

then we have wang ke also and this one is especially disappointing bc it’s her weibo profile picture girl you have so many good pictures with better hair and you chose this one

then then we have vava like no I know your a rapper and you think it gives you “swag” but in reality it doesn’t look good on you periodt like it just doesn’t at all

like I’m all here for the c women in rap but not when they pull shit like this box braids and dreads are not your hiphop aesthetic and that’s dinal
