tw: suicide, homophobia

i'm not going to link to this but i want to talk about funding for queer organizations in Singapore.

this person helpfully links to Oogachaga, one of many LGBTQ organisations.
Oogachaga is a registered non-profit with charity status. Unfortunately, they are not an Institution of Public Character (IPC). This means they are unable to issue tax deductible receipts. I'm sure this affects their fundraising efforts.
the stat board overseeing social service agencies is National Council of Social Service (NCSS). I cannot help but notice that the president of NCSS, Anita Fam, is also a board member of City on a Hill, the organisation behind http://CityRevival.Sg
Anita's work is clearly driven by her faith. I'll let you decide if that's problematic ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
Recent changes to the Maintenance of Religious Harmony Act explicitly protects the LGBTQ community.

Have other ministries and stat boards received the memo? Will organisations that serve the needs of the LGBTQ community receive recognition and due status?
the church refuses to leave the rest of us alone.

they just get better at setting up ‘separate’, ‘secular’ organisations to further their goals.
