Y'all realize that dragging @tomberlin for commenting on the new TS is the exact same thing you're accusing Tomberlin of, right? And all it shows is that the music industry has convinced us that women should attack each other if we ever criticize or comment on each other's work.
If TS speaks to you, awesome. But if you've never in your life been into sad, indie style music before, it can be really frustrating for talented, hard-working musicians for whom that has always been their thing, but aren't huge stars. It could feel like a pop star is copying it.
And TS rebranded from country to pop already. This new direction into indie style could seem and feel like a marketed choice instead of genuine inspiration during quarantine. And for someone who has every resource, is a celeb, it's hard to ignore the privilege involved.
So much of being an indie musician is about who you are, what your identity is. For many, the style of music you doesn't feel like a choice, it feels like something that was always a part of you. For a pop star to suddenly turn sad indie can feel like a commodification of that.
If this album is genuine TS, then awesome, welcome to the club girl. But you're joining a lot of talented women who would love to hear about what inspired you and to share the love, since you're the mega star and they aren't.
And finally, THERE IS ROOM FOR ALL OF US WOMXN IN MUSIC

DRAGGING TOMBERLIN DOWN DOES NOT LIFT TS OR ANYONE ELSE UP

And @tomberlin is probably struggling her ass off during this pandemic just to make ends meet while TS gets to be a full time musician and just made BANK?!?!?!?
