1. the overall theme of the serendipity mv is yellow and what does yellow represent?

2. serendipity mv constantly showed the sun and moon, jimin = sun, yoongi = moon. it's forbidden for them to love each other since its dangerous

3. when the moon and sun comes together an eclipse occurs and the last eclipse before serendipity mv was released was on march 9, 2016

4. march 9, 2016 aka yoongi's birthday . the day where this live happened and yoonmin said "you know? i know"

5. you know i know is in serendipity's lyrics

6. there are sun and moon models in the room jm is in in the serendipity mv

7. some bg info, in the old legends, the sun, who is together this his lover the moon, is forever trapped in the eternal loop of only being able to chase after the other without being able to unite.

8. jm is stuck in a situation where he feels that he might never be able to get together with the love of his life, despite both of them being in love with each other.

9. warm toned scenes: imaginary/happy
cool toned scenes: reality/sadness

to cope with this fate, jm retreats into his imagination(in the blanket), into the world of his own thoughts.

where we see him smiling, basking in the joy that being in love brings despite everything.

10. however, even through this way, he does not forget how trapped he feels by the situation he's in.

as symbolised by the fact that the only exit out of his imagination is the window above him which was out of his reach. jm is also seen looking up to the window worriedly

11. when reality(yellow ball) kicks in, quite literally, jm, wanting to stay positive, attempts to retreat into his imagination and escape from reality again.

also as you can see, its jm himself that forced onto himself the harsh truth of reality

12. but he does not succeed this time as his mind is forcing himself to remember about the sad thoughts. his mind reminding him that he's, loving the moon and will never be able to reach it.

13. the sun, jimin, is unable to reach the moon, yoongi, and be together with him.

you're probably asking yourself why is that so?

14. since all the yellow coloured objects in the mv has something to do with jm's idea of 'love', such as, the protective warm blanket which he can hide beneath when it gets overwhelming, the little globe representing the moon which he is very fond of, and a prickly cactus.

15. in the mv, the cactus appears as something dangerous, the act of pricking jm's finger when he touched it. meaning that if jm were to finally get to be together with his lover, it would wound and scar him emotionally.

16. on yg's promotional teaser picture for lyh, there is a sentence saying, "Don't come close (to me), you'll experience unhappiness if you do."

17. also, in the picture he appears to be hiding away in some sort of a big pipe, with a solemn expression.

18. the choice to have a cactus close to you. it's beautiful, yet dangerous if you get too close. exactly like yg.

yg is afraid of hurting jm thus distancing himself although he is in love with him.

19. as seen in the mv, jm eventually gives in to his temptations and touches the cactus, prickling his finger.

though it hurt him, as expected, making his finger bleed, jm does not appear worried or in pain. rather, he calmly shows the camera his bleed!ng finger.

20. it's not that he isn't scared, he is just ready to face the struggles that may come along with being in a relationship with yg.

the lyrics, "As much as my heart flutters, I'm worried. Just like you I'm scared." yet in the end he says bravely, "Just let me love you"

21. this means that he basically wants to take a leap in the dark.

to take a leap in the dark is to engage in an act whose consequences cannot be predicted & could potentially be dangerous.

22. this symbolises jm's willingness to accept the pain that comes with a potential relationship

this can be seen in the mv where jm imagined himself falling backwards into the unknown(being in a relationship)

23. additionally, jm is seen letting go of a yellow balloon which represents his reality. meaning that he has let go of all connections with reality just to be able to be together with yg in his imaginations.

24. eventually, yg gets convinced too, as seen from the eclipse happening in the mv, where the sun and moon meets.

25. more than once we see the other members joke about yg's blue hair and calling it 'blue mold' which is mentioned in serendipity's lyrics.

26. in a fansign event, serendipity was playing in the background, jm quietly sang along to the part where the lyrics said, "You are my blue mold, saving me. My angel, my world." and proceeds to look at yg.

27. jm has also said before that the member he want to hear cover serendipity the most is yg.

28. at the end of the mv, the room jm was in is seen shaking and the world around him seems to be crumbling down.

29. the window that was seemingly closed shut all throughout the mv, finally opened, symbolising that as he lets go of his reality, his body is forcing his brain to get rid of his memories related to reality as it only brings him pain and sadness.

30. despite the world crumbling, jm was smiling and he seemed excited as he is finally going to be with his love, the moon, yg
