I’m going to try my best not to slander Gobert when explaining the context here instead I’ll give praise KAT. Two things to get out of the way. One, KAT is the best offensive Center in the NBA. Two, Gobert is the best defensive Center in the NBA. I stand by those two things

To address the stat dominance it doesn’t surprise me Gobert is dominant in the defensive stats as he should. As for the offensive stats KAT being on a losing and shitty team compared to Gobert being on a winning team has a heavy influence on these. KAT is def better offensively

I value KAT being one of the best shooting big man(50/40/80!) an advanced playmaking big and a 3 level scorer more than I value Goberts elite defense. As much as I value defense it doesnt outweigh elite and efficient volume scoring. It’s like saying Covington/Lopez > Steph Curry

Now, Im not gonna ignore the obvious, playoffs. KAT had the chance to prove himself with Butler and failed, although it was his rookie year, he still failed miserably and since has been labeled a guy who plays “losing basketball” I don’t think this is true in the slightest

His circumstances have not been fortunate in the slightest. Having Wiggins as his partner compared to Mitchell as Gobert’s is definitely something that needs to be noted. Not to mention supporting cast, coaching and management have not done much to help KAT win

This is similar to my Fox/Shai or Booker/Mitchell comparisons. It’s not fair to discount a players elite production cause of their unfortunate situation. I firmly think KAT can be a winning player if given the right tools, which may not be available as long as he’s on the wolves
