The segment is airing on @ericbolling's Sinclair show. Bolling told me that he challenged his "Plandemic" guest, noting he called her claims "hefty" in the segment. When I asked whether that constitutes effectively challenging her, he said he felt he did. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/24/media/sinclair-fauci-conspiracy-bolling/index.html
Sinclair's @ericbolling told me that he was totally unaware that the guest he invited on his show had starred in the viral "Plandemic" video pushing coronavirus misinfo. He said he doesn't "endorse her theory" but will still air the segment. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/24/media/sinclair-fauci-conspiracy-bolling/index.html
The on-screen banner for @ericbolling's segment reads, "DID DR. FAUCI CREATE COVID-19?" When I asked him about this, Bolling told me he does not control the on-screen graphics that appear during his show. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/24/media/sinclair-fauci-conspiracy-bolling/index.html
And I should note: A spokesperson for Sinclair did not respond to multiple requests for comment on this.
Update: Sinclair posts thread addressing the controversy. The company says it does not endorse the views of Mikovits & has heard the feedback. Yet it is still allowing Mikovits to peddle her conspiracy theory about Fauci on its air. Sinclair frames it as “free speech” issue. https://twitter.com/wearesinclair/status/1287034512426164226
New: Sinclair now says it will not air the conspiracy segment this weekend with the discredited "Plandemic" researcher. Story TK.
