The best and worst songs from Irish Adverts: A Thread
Up first we have the infamous âThem bones, them bones need calciumâ The witch in this is kind of scary as fuck but the song is a bop none the less 7/10
Now lads, this song has been ruined for all of us by the image of this man getting flattened by the car. Serious PTSD when this came on and youâd always try and change the channel. The song has been tainted so 2/10
Pat the Baker has such an iconic song. If not only puts you in a good mood, but itâs not annoying to have stuck in your head all day! The sun in this is also a dote. Overall, this has to get a solid 9/10
Now our first Christmas entry and itâs only the Coca-Cola truck ad! If this song doesnât embody Christmas and everything it stands for then I just donât know what does. It is the epitome of being allowed to get exited about Christmas and will forever be a 10/10
This dude named Michael used to ride motorcycles...that was up until his infamous car crash ad in 2006. The song isnât good to be honest and doesnât really go anywhere. It also has that PTSD, change the channel sort of vibe going on. Overall it has to get a 1/10
What can I say except the woodies jingle is exactly what youâd want from an advert. @WoodiesIreland can we have a Spotify release of the jingle!? Iâm giving it an impressive 8/10.
Some of us not only discovered Ireland with this ad, but we also discovered the catchiest cutest song ever. @HeathersTunes phenomenal work with this one and itâs getting too marks 10/10
@mescal_paul your Denny sausages ad doesnât have a song as good as this one. Itâs not your fault. This song is so nice to hear at Christmas time and itâs one of those ads you look forward to seeing every year! Heâs a wery good Santy

Something quite morbid about the line âweâre not gonna be another death on the roadâ but what a concept. Wow. Definitely the best car safety song so far but the competition has been WEAK. Overall Iâm giving you a 6/10
Guinness really werenât playing around with this one. The song is perfect and the ad is beautiful. 10/10
This one always really got to me for some reason. @DianaVickers did you approve of this song being used for a car crash advert? Again, like a bop but itâs kind of tainted now. Itâs a song I once associated with Eoghan Quigg but now seatbelts! 6/10
I tried to find that ad about the guy in the Gaeltacht who gets sent a load of chef ketchup and brown sauce and stuff but I couldnât find it anywhere
https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="đ„" title="EnttĂ€uschtes, aber erleichtertes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: EnttĂ€uschtes, aber erleichtertes Gesicht"> it also may not have had a song so 0/10
âFaster better cheaper and no line rental free, for more information see http://imagine.ie"> http://imagine.ie â . I used to think I was the next Irish rapper when I was younger and could do that bit. Great song, great vibes 8/10
Late entry because this song wrecks my head and I think I blocked it from my memory. The song is a piece of pop culture but overall (because itâs so annoying) I can only give it a 3/10
The national lottery did a great job with this one. I kind of forgot that this existed up until today but definitely one to note. Very fun times. 9/10
