Why is remote learning still starting at 7 am for high schoolers?!
Students have been out of school since March. Over the past five months, has anyone asked them when, what, and how they’d like to learn this fall? Or are we just expecting them to accept the same old “because I said so”?
It’s yet another example of looking at the research and science...and then doing the opposite. Even 8 am is too early, especially in a fully virtual setting.
Why are we clinging so hard to a status quo that failed so many? Why is it so hard to do things differently? Do things better? Let’s start with the easy stuff!
Considered adding my thoughts on standardized testing (during a pandemic?!) and scripted literacy curriculum but it’s Saturday 😂
