The South #Texas Border, #RioGrandeValley desperately needs help.

"My #physician friend warns we will “hear in the news that beds are available.” She begs a reporter to come to South Texas and see the devastation first hand."

"There are no ICU beds in the Rio Grande Valley. The ICUs ran out of Remdesivir, Propofol, sedation medications, syringes, and respirators. Having run out of fever cooling blankets a long time ago, the current ICU cooling protocol is “to pour ice on them.”"
"The hospitals are running out of nurses and phlebotomists. Agency nurses from Florida and New York are fleeing shortly after arrival when they see the dangerous situation. Doctors have brought foam from home to create makeshift proning equipment to try save lives."
Copied and pasted from a physician FB group:
Here is what they need:
White overalls from Home Depot for the ICU staff
Shoe covers or rain boots to use instead
Face shield
Head pillows to prone patients (I bought 5 online, $20 each).
Masks to distribute to the local population.
Since my med school friend is an ObGyn his contact for supplies is:
Pregnancy Care Center in Weslaco
913 S airport Dr
Weslaco, Texas 78596

They will get it to the hospital.
