It’s time for me to say a few things here, and help all of the “journalists" who constantly swarm my inbox thinking they have some sort of “gotcha” on me about QAnon.
These “journalists" are crawling out of the woodwork trying to level all sorts of wild accusations about me and my supposed involvement with QAnon. Some are up front about their requests while others try to veil their intent by saying (cont)
it’s a feature story (I of course later find out that it was nothing of the sort). I have already said very publicly (easily accessible if they would bother to use a search engine) but I will say it again here once more, period.
When the infamous QAnon showed up in 2017, I was super curious about it—just as I am with any topic that is different and obscure. I was an investigative journalist before QAnon and still am more than two years later.
As my readers/followers know, any topic I am curious about I research to death. I covered the QAnon phenomena for approximately three months — November/2017 through roughly February/2018, and I ceased talking about it completely.
I have *never* claimed to know who QAnon is, nor have I ever spoken to any person/people saying they are QAnon. I *never* moderated/took action on any board on 4chan or 8chan, I had nothing to do with the postings, and TO THIS DAY I have no idea who QAnon is.
There is now a concerted effort to tie me to people I have neither met, nor associated with, in order to do me harm. When I have declined comment on QAnon-related articles, “reporters” have tried to besmirch my name by making insinuations (cont)
I am involved and choose to keep it a secret. All of you know how I am committed to ethical, tenacious reporting, and to try to tarnish that is unacceptable. You also know that I denounce any and ALL political violence.
I find it unfortunate that these “journalists" are all so unoriginal that they continue to write the same tired story over and over in an attempt to be relevant using conspiratorial angles. Their stories about conspiracies are conspiracies themselves.
Perhaps these “journalists” would better serve the public by focusing on what is ACTUALLY newsworthy, like the fact that the Intelligence Community spied on an incoming presidential candidate as well as after the election as a sitting president;
the injustice done to General Michael Flynn; the *real* story behind the Coronavirus, or the corrupt people whose identities are at risk once Ghislaine Maxwell starts singing — you know, all news topics we have covered for the past year at UncoverDC.
Moral of the story? Everyone needs to just stop giving these people credibility. They lie about and twist everything, and talking to them just presents another opportunity for dishonesty. I refuse to be part of it.
