Rams ran lots of 2 TE sets (12 personnel)
BUT
They didn& #39;t run a bunch of 21 personnel or other packages that prevent WRs being on the field... so it& #39;s overblown AF already (see MIN)
Rams went 4-4 post bye week? Not great Bob

12 personnel for LAR is about the offensive line-
McVay ran basically the most 3 WR sets in football leading up to that 5 week stretch
attempts to relieve the offensive line resulted in a poor W-L record
So IMO they& #39;d revert to whats worked- not what facilitated mediocrity

The shit O Line was unbearable & come Bye Week the Rams recognized they had to do SOMETHING
- they tried 12 personnel
(an alien concept in LA under Sean McVay)
Weeks 1-9 they ran 11% of their plays in 12 personnel
Weeks 10-17 they ran 30% (5th highest rate)

How rare was it to see that amount of 12 Personnel?
they ran more 12 sets over the 2nd half of 2019
compared to the previous year and a half combined

just to shed light on how the offensive line and 12 personnel are the ones in a relationship here
week 11 was a heavy 12 personnel game & marked 1/3 games where multiple TEs played over 60% of the snaps
Higbee 76% snaps
Johnny Mundt 69%
Everett 25%

So the COOPER KUPP hate is.. reachy? That& #39;s how I feel
so much is made about what happened post bye
but isn& #39;t it possible his injury (that had us concerned during fantasy draft season last year) Ended up causing him to hit a wall over the 2nd half?

that has logical and consider the logic here
Kupp was the WR 2 overall thru 8 GP
22 ppg in PPR
bye week
**Shit we need to scale this guy back because...
KUPP CAN& #39;T PLAY ON THE PERIMETER!! bum
...Said nobody ever about a WR dominating the league entering their bye week

Weeks 1-8 Kupp had 87 targets
2 shy of MT for the league lead
Kupp was top 3 in targets/ catches/ rec yds
OH! + the guy who can& #39;t play outside...
led the NFL in 15+ yard catches entering week 9

So I& #39;m not arguing that his production cliff dove
& the concerns aren& #39;t to be ignored
but his SITUATION is the key (YAC)
so long as he doesn& #39;t walk EOS
KUPP
just under 90 targets/ 60 rec/ 800 rec yds in half a sea
but 1st half equaled:
65% of his targets
61% catches
68% rec yds

100 yards receiving in 5/8 games
Games 9-16

9+ targets in 2/8 games
Kupp had ZERO games over 100 yds rec

Kupp& #39;s snaps/ MS% came down & people DEMAND to know why lol
But most just talk shit
dont even include the facts or break it up properly so it comes across pure speculative
I have zero condemnation if someone has the opposite take but I want SOME data
Like: the final 5 GP maybe

Kupp& #39;s participation running routes went way down weeks 13-17
Weeks 1-12
almost 90% of the snaps
90% routes run on pass plays
25% of the teams targets

Correlation is not the same as causation and anything that exists in a 5 game sample that flies in the face of the prior- much larger example will always fall into the former and not the ladder
The LAR team is one to tie to for pass catchers in fantasy & they are steering the ship towards getting the ball out quick and relying on YAC even more so!
PPR pts/ YAC/ passing yards... tons more
These are all categories the Rams and McVay have delivered on annually since 2017

I">https://twitter.com/TnfFtyrel... put a bunch of my rant in a prior tweet and it also goes into the stats and the team level production/ all the pass catchers broken down to an extent
Sorry if you believe the opposite and you could be right I just don;t think it& #39;s great process
