Apologies in advance for this thread. It's about to get topical. 😅

Let's head our asses back over to #BEASTARS. I've finally watched and rewatched this new anime and I have to say, I enjoy it alot. Though I was left disappointed in how it ended. Good thing there's a season
two in the works, otherwise I would lose my shit. 😅

Beside the point, however I want to talk about Beastars' trope on carnivores and herbivores. Obviously, the carnivores are feared by the prey, the herbivores, and thus are made out to be the bad guy.
Take Haru and Legoshi for example. A dwarf rabbit and a wolf is "unheard of". They're quite literally a case of sameness repelling, yet somehow, they come to understand each other and their ambitions, and thus grow together.

Remember this point.
Take a step into... Regrettably, America now. We are divided. Race against race, party against party. Black against white, "right" against "wrong".

Notice, I put quotes there.

I am a huge advocate for educating people about this that just don't seem to get it.
But what really pisses me off is the people who are so outrageously arrogant that they don't WANT to learn. They'd rather stay ignorant to just WHY people are protesting. "Oh they're vandals, they don't care about us! They want war!"
Hop back a few steps for a bit. War? You mean like how the Americans fought off the British cause they felt oppressed by their taxes? Literally throwing a fucking hissy fit and tossing imported tea into the harbor? Only to turn around years later and fight each other...
... over what skin color was declared humane and the fact that all are created EQUAL, such as our Constitution states? These types of people, who cower behind the "rights" they make up to fit their agenda, are what us in the #BLM movement, (also in the reference to Beastars)
Herbivores. They're scared of change. They're scared of what's different, and seemingly detrimental to them, even when there is no real danger present (ref. to Haru and Legoshi). Close to the end of the season, Haru and Legoshi ( #BeastarsSpoilers btw), go to a hotel...
Since they'd missed the train that would take them back to Cherryton. Honestly, I love this scene, because it illustrates, quite literally, that opposites can attract. A wolf and a rabbit (or a white wo/man and a black wo/man). If the love is present, there's no need for labels..
...just as Legoshi was mulling over the entire season. It's WEIRD for a wolf to love a rabbit, but he can't help it. But he knows, also, the rabbit will always fear him because of what he is, as evident by the scene being cut short (yeah you know what I mean, pervs.)...
...by Haru beginning to put herself into his mouth. But she's always mouthing off, a smartass, the entire show, and that's what makes her endearing. But she, even though she is prey, thinks she has some sort of dignity in, quite literally, fucking everyone for personal gain.
Now, that could go multiple ways. Put those against BLM in the shoes of Haru. Legoshi, or BLM in this case, comes up to them and asks to be friends.

🐰: But you're a carnivore, I can't do that. You could cause me harm, or worse, devour me!

But he didn't have that intention.
He, like BLM, doesn't want to step on eggshells all the time, just to feel equal to the girl he loves, as evident by the fight scene between him and the Boss of the Shishigumi. While he is still tender to her, he gets ruthless with whoever dared harm her...
Moments before Shishigumi, we see him give Rouie a black eye, and then some, only to be pulled away, because he cared about Haru. Take into account how much Legoshi overthinks. He doesn't want to cause harm, or make anyone angry with what he does, so he fakes being weak...
...to put on a passive facade. But he's only rarely noticed, UNLESS he does something out of the ordinary, such as the black market scene, Shishigumi, punching Rouie, and many other times.
Going back to Anti-BLM stans. They only call out "All Lives Matter", when they see the Legoshis making ruckus, or getting incarcerated. Because that's all they're exposed to. They think:

🐰: Violence is akin to BLM, they fight for what demands they want, and it's not right!
All we want is peace . Just like all those years ago, early Americans just wanted their peace their freedom, the ability to do what they please (within reason), and not be shunned for it. This is why they fought Britain, and themselves, to obtain something greater than having...
...to walk on eggshells all the time.

🐺: I want to be with you. Be your protector, but you have to trust me to be able to do that for you.

🐰: And yet, I don't know if I can. We, naturally, are opposites. It's not right.

And that mindset is what damns everyone to violence...
I agree, all lives matter, but at the same time, all lives cannot matter if you refuse to stand up for your fellow colored Americans and help them fight for their rights. You can't say all lives matter, when a white man can get probation for the same crime a black man...
...who gets a life sentence is called JUSTICE. There is no justice in that. There is no peace or problem solving. There is no equality, and some people are too arrogant, blind, too much like SHEEP to change that.
I'm not going to go any further on this point unless I find something else to put out, as this thread is already hella long. But I wanted to put this out there for anyone who needed a bit of extra "hmph" to get the point BLM is trying to make.
