And internalized racism too. The ‘diverse blackness’ they try to prove that exists is always them showing off people who are white adjacent (mixed race) or black people (anomalies) born with non-traditional African features like blonde hair or green eyes. And that speaks volume. https://twitter.com/emmanuelb_s/status/1286689851534979073
Never will you see them showing off the multitudes of AFRICAN features that we have in the diaspora or accross Africa (Bantu, Nillotic, Cushitic people, etc). It’s always about showing how we too can reproduce the same Eurocentric features that mostly white people get revered for
And essentially by doing that, black people show that they still view proximity to whiteness and being white adjacent as ‘superior’. Which is reflected in the way we perpetuate colorism, texturism and featurism. This is why you have biracial people being revered over black people
Primarily, what makes black people diverse are the different sets of African features that we commonly have. Accross Africa & the rest of the diaspora , we are predominantly dark & brown skinned (light skinned black people are a minority but they exist) & mostly* have coarse hair
And that’s what the average black person looks like whether you like it or not. The semantics and intellectual dishonesty that is mostly about showing off the existence of anomalies will never hold the weight you think it does to ‘debunk’ this reality. Black people, we are enough
