One-third of #COVID19 patients who were never sick enough to be hospitalized are suffering from long-term illness.
As people push reopening, this is something that we aren’t talking about nearly enough, but we really need to factor into decision making. https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/monumental-acknowledgment-cdc-reports-long-term-covid-19-patients-n1234814">https://www.nbcnews.com/health/he...

Note that this is from a CDC report, based on phone surveys of 274 #COVID19 patients. There& #39;s still quite a bit of research we need to do to, but it& #39;s pretty clear that a significant number of people are experiencing long term impacts from the virus. We should not ignore that.
While hospitalizations and deaths are important numbers of course, I fear that the broader impacts on public health are being ignored in critical policy discussions. We need to be vocal about this because long-term illness is affecting so many people.
