Arsenal have announced an intake of 16 new scholars and this is one of the most talented Intakes for a long time.
I’ve compliled a thread below taking you through the names and the profiles
Thread:
Omari Hutchinson
Wonderful technical ability and a very creative winger, will turn defenders inside out. Well established in the England set up too, has a eye for a good goal but will always look to create chances.
One of the stand outs with a big future ahead.
Zach Awe
An exciting defensive prospect who has a lot to learn but is imposing in size and dominance. Can play CB and DM and is very combative in both positions. Has played for the U18s already and will look to establish himself.
Henry Jeffcott
As hard working left back who loves to get up and down the flank with plenty of energy. Can play at CB too but seems to have excelled at Left back and played well in his U18s debut. Busy player who puts himself about similar to Swanson
Charles Sagoe Junior
A really exciting winger, can be raw and too instinctive at times but his dribbling ability and low centre of gravity is a joy to watch. Will be interesting to see how he copes with physicality going up the levels.
Brooke Norton Cuffy
A really exciting right back who is physically impressive. Gets forward and attacks with confidence whilst being reliable and strong at the back. Has been involved with England and impressed at that level too.
Definitely one could progress very fast.
Mauro Bandiera
A tough midfielder with a touch of class to his game. Comfortable and tidy on the ball whilst imposing himself in winning duels.
Did well in his 3 outings for the U18s so far and will look to build on this. Will look to break into Portugal’s youth setup too
Zane Monlouis
The most experienced of the intake having featured plenty for the U18s. ZM is a quick, ball playing CB who does well in duels at both ends of the pitch, scoring 2 goals of the U18s. He had some tough games in the U18s, will hopefully use that experience to improve
James Lannin-Sweet
Talented midfielder who is recognised in the England setup, likes to get goals from midfield and can operate as an 8 or 10. Energy and goals in a similar mould to Aaron Ramsey.
Billy Vigar
Old fashioned English Number 9, who can play as a target man bringing others into play. Strong and physical and chases down everything. Won’t be surprising to see him getting on the end of some good deliveries. Could surprise a few.
Khayon Edwards
Hard working forward that plays on the last shoulder of the defence, his pace and finishing are very impressive, certainly a player who will look to follow the path of Eddie Nketiah. Has made his U18s debut already and won’t be long before he’s finding the net
Charlie Patino
A player who already has a lot of plaudits for his performances in the U18s and Eng U17s.
A very talented midfielder with great passing ability. Likes to dictate from deep and drive forward. A progressive player who is one of the clear stand outs of the intake
Taylor Foran
Intelligent CB and a leader of the group, successfully captaining the U16s. A good reader of the game and uses his size well to impose himself. Reliable and disciplined and will work hard to improve on his passing and technical ability
Marcelo Flores
The att-Mid has flourished in his first year at Arsenal and took his chances well with the u18s too claiming an assist in the youth cup. The young Mexican is a fantastic dribbler but also a creative player capable of delivering assists. High hopes for Flores.
Jack Henry-Francis
Tidy midfielder who is disciplined and reliable. His blend of aggression and short passing can be effective for the team. Reminds some of Charlie Gilmour.
Remy Mitchell
Talented Keeper always playing well beyond his age group, first appeared for the U18s at 15 years old. Became back up to Graczyk this season. Will hope to progress this season again.
Luigi Gasper
Hasn’t been at the club that long to make that big of an impression but the Brazilian CM certainly is comfortable on the ball and likes to dictate play from deep. Will be interesting to assess how he develops in the U18s but maybe behind the pecking order currently.
