[1] Please R/T for reach. Ok guys, so this is going to be a pretty long thread. I said before that I had no hard feelings about @Lambdaschool but they are unavailable by phone and are using email to control the flow of the conversation.
[2] so I have to get on Twitter to make this known about my post @lambdaschool experience. It starts with this message that I received regarding my ISA.
[3] So it looks like @LambdaSchool wants me to pay $21k claiming that I’m 70% vested into my ISA. The UX track at this boot camp was discontinued. My experience there felt like a flight program that was falling apart at the seams.
[4] While I was there I only completed the first Unit and “flexed” the 2nd one (which means that I had to repeat the unit again) I flexed at a point in the unit called a “sprint” which is a challenge that acts as the gatekeeper of the next unit.
[5] each Unit is 1 month long and a “sprint” happens once a week. The final week is called build week and it is considered a week long “sprint”. I did not deliver on all of the requirements to pass the Sprint challenge so I “flexed”
[6] I requested to retake the Sprint challenge after completing 3 Sprints in that unit successfully but I was told that I must flex the entire unit. (meaning that I also have to retake 3 successful sprint challenges) so those sprints basically don’t count.
[7] So I went to @LambdaSchool website and it is strictly optimized for conversions and shows no contact info. (Meaning that I can call anyone)
[8] So I reached out to @Austen on LinkedIn to see if I can get help. I really thought that my ISA was terminated. Not sure what happened. I requested it along with everyone else.
[9] They followed up with this email afterwards. @Austen didn’t even acknowledge my DM on LinkedIn. This is what they had to say about the ISA guidelines regarding the Sprint. So now all of a sudden the “3 sprints” that didn’t count before are now relevant

[11] Newsflash! I just accepted an offer 2 weeks ago for a full-time UX role that pays over $50k! I don’t feel like reporting my income to a program that I tried and received no value from. I earned my UX offer ON MY OWN with no help from @LambdaSchool
[12] So in closing, I’m not happy about this situation where I’m being asked to pay $21k for a course that not only didn’t bring me value but wasted my time and was shortly after discontinued and then being gaslight about the income as if I’m not ever gonna make more than $50k
[13] I don’t understand why I have to go through this when know that I never needed @LambdaSchool. This is truly a system of oppression, it’s systematically designed to where you can’t reach them by phone (dark design patterns) and pay $21k into an ISA after withdrawal.
[14] I’ve honestly gotten more value from courses where I’ve only paid $50. @LambdaSchool not only wasn’t a good fit for me but I honestly think that they’re a no good program for doing this. This is not a system created to help people win (the way it’s advertised)
[15] they market it like a “golden-ticket”. Like “we’ll invest in you” nah yo, they’re investing in themselves. Don’t be fooled, it’s a business (with lots of dark patterns) I could’ve taught a way better UX course than they did. I just fell on hard time and fell for the hype.
