The whole idea that butches are regressive and unfeminist and man-like and oppressive and predatory is literally all so batshit. These people call themselves feminists but hate women who don’t conform to gender. Who put your brain in a blender?

Like what went wrong in your feminist education that made you see gender non-conformity in women as something that is regressive and unfeminist? This all seems very bioessentialist to me.

This idea that feminity is something that is natural to women, and that masculinity is going against how women are naturally supposed to be. And the idea that masculinity is something that belongs to men and presenting yourself as masculine makes you like a man. Bioessentialism.

Toxic masculinity is about men. Butches can’t be perpetuators of toxic masculinity because they’re not men and the term was made to talk about shitty men.

Individual butches being assholes doesn’t make them perpetuators of toxic masculinity. It just means that person is an asshole.

I always think it’s interesting how if a feminine woman is mean, she is just a “bitch.” But if a butch woman is mean, she’s a toxic masculine masc privileged predatory male energy fuckboy. Butches can’t just be a “bitch.” You guys always act like it’s something deeper than it is.

This same double standard can also be seen with promiscuous butches. When a feminine woman is promiscuous, she’s a slut at worst and a #GirlBoss at best. But once again if a butch is promiscuous we’re back to the “toxic masculine masc privileged predatory male energy fuckboy.”

Butches aren’t allowed to just be sluts. We’re always equated with predatory men for behaving exactly the same way as our feminine counterparts.

Lesbian Instagram is full of memes about evil fuckboy lesbians who sleep with you and then don’t call you back. Also known as.... one night stands. Fairly normal hookup behavior that is only framed as evil when butch women participate in it.
