hey oomfs i want to talk about when you guys use the word manifesting so casually..manifesting originated from hinduism and we hindus still practice it and it makes me uncomfortable when you guys say it as a joke and do it as a trend and not know about the origins of it

this “spirituality” you guys talk about is just white washed hinduism and no one ever pays us credit, it makes me upset. we’ve been mocked for our practices for so long but everyone loves yoga, manifestion, reincarnation, and chakras when all of these originated from hinduism

im not saying you are not allowed to manifest but please be aware it comes from hinduism and it is a hindu practice. you don’t have to be hindu do it but when you are unaware it is APPROPRIATION

during the british rule in india hindu practices like yoga and manifestion were illegal so it makes me really uncomfortable when non hindus practice these things without knowing it came from us and pass it off as “spirituality”

just to clarify i know a lot of other religions practice manifesting in Other ways..i am specifically talking about the law of attraction which is what most people associate with that word and how spirituality is just white washed hinduism
