Private-run academies harm African football more than any other institution.

While they benefit the individual players and help them explore their talents in Europe, it dissuades clubs from signing players from African clubs- when it's cheaper to cherrypick from academies.
Generation Foot at least play in the top division of Senegal rather than individually, and Mohammed V benefits Morocco more than anywhere else. However, both do little to raise the level of income in their respective leagues, meaning the increase in ability is much slower.
Clubs should develop their academies to become better than European-funded ones.

If it's an inevitability that the best players go there, the clubs might as well develop top talent that generates more sales income.
