Sexist regressive gender scripts have been thrust on my body since childhood.

I broke away from the church that told me women were made by God to be submissive to men & to dress/behave as such. But I found that the secular world prescribed gendered clothes & behavior as well.

The secular gender scripts were just as limiting, sexist, and regressive as the religious gender scripts. All gender scripts are thus.

As soon as you start believing that there is a "right way" to be a woman/man, you have engaged in the regressive sexist gendering of bodies.

As soon as you start believing that there is a style of dress, a behavior, emotion, personality, or presentation that is the sole domain of women as opposed to men, you have engaged in the sexist regressive gendering of bodies.

As soon as you believe there is a way that "women are" you stop seeing me as an individual and have started looking at me as a gender role. This is a dehumanizing way of behaving towards one another. I am a human being, not an assigned gender role.

As soon as you strip the word woman from the status of a physical organism with specific functions and change it into a "gender script" you dehumanize all women. Although our bodies are arranged in similar ways, our personalities, passions, presentations are not!

As soon as you turn the word woman from a specific physical organism into a "gender role" that men can become, you dehumanize all women. Our body arrangement is not a "gender role." Gender roles have been used to dehumanize us, other us, keep us from public life.

Gender roles have been used as the reason we deserve our inferior status. We are killed, exploited, oppressed because of our bodies are arranged in certain ways and the excuse that has been made for this is the gender roles that have been projected on us. Gender is a prison.

Picking and choosing gender roles is just another prison. It is the same as the religions gender roles, same as the secular gender roles, the post modern gender roles are just as limiting, sexist, and regressive as ever. And now the dogma includes erasing the category of sex!

Organizing as a sex class has been women's only means of gaining rights for the past few centuries. Because we have organized for the rights of our female sex, some women (not all) have gained the right to vote, to inherit, to hold office, the right not to be owned as property.

Globally, women as a sex class STILL don't have all these rights. Many women/girls in many countries are still killed for being born female, still mutilated in FGM, still sold in child marriages, trafficked, held in surrogacy camps, face forced pregnancy and lack abortion access.

Participating in the gendering of women's bodies is to participate in these crimes. Participating in reducing women from a physical organism into a "gender role," is participating in these crimes. Participating in erasing the category of sex is participating in these crimes.

My body arrangement is not a gendered destiny. Human bodies do not come with limitations of presentation, behavior, emotions, or personality. All human bodies are free to dress, express, behave, in ways that are authentic to the individual.

My work is to dismantle gender. This may make some people uncomfortable. But the gendering of bodies is responsible for terrible harms. I refuse to participate in further harming my fellow humans. I will not gender neutral sex bodies or the neutral words used to describe bodies.
