because it is 1D& #39;s anniversary and because i am in a particularly joyful mood i would like to share a lil story (thread)
back in 2013 in the Before Times i was a teen editor at huffpost. 1D was getting ready to release their highly anticipated documentary, This Is Us, and i went to the press junket, which was at some hotel.
there were teen girls wrapped around the block, just trying to get a glimpse of their favorite band. i went inside, got my press pass, and was ushered into some conference room where a bunch of other reporters were sitting.
i remember i was shocked that the seats weren& #39;t even half filled. i think i took a seat maybe three rows back from the stage. in front of me, was a woman and next to her, her young daughter. maybe 8 years old.
anyway, the boys come in and sit down in their directors chairs. (i think only 4 of them were there for whatever reasons.) they charmingly answered Qs. i remember how happy i felt for this young girl in front of me who had to sit up extra straight in her seat to see their faces.
before you knew it, time was up and it was announced that the boys had to leave. they stood up and started to exit the room. and then, like at of a movie, harry TURNS AROUND and bounds up to this little girl, who is still sitting in her seat, and gives her a kiss on the cheek.
a perfect single tear rolled down her face.
nancy meyers could not have directed a more perfect movie scene.
and then, before you could blink, he was gone. i will never forget that moment and i will never forget how special he made that girl feel.
i will also never forgot that harry styles& #39; face was like, two feet away from mine but that is just a small detail!!
