Because I don't want to focus on science, I will start a thread of Latinx food places I've tried since I've been here in Portland (well mainly Beaverton, Tigard) cause I mean, thats where all the good Hispanic food is.
This is obviously with the help of @yessicasantana_ that has found most of them and let me tag along. I will put them as I try to remember where I've gone/ remembered to star on maps. COVID obviously made it more difficult to explore but go support and get some food for takeout.
1. The Tamale House. Tigard. 8/10 I had a pork and chicken tamales. Good size tamales, great price, nice and moist masa, lots of filling, rich flavor in the salsa. Probably the closest to what I'm used to back home
2. Frutas Y Antojitos Diana's. Tigard. This is where you go to for snacking food/ Mexican street food. Honestly any place like this is a 10/10 for me. Elote en vaso (corn in a cup) 10/10. Aqua de Sandia (watermelon juice? drink?) 10/10. A little pricey but soo much food.
3. Sabor Salvadoreña. Beaverton. 8/10 My first time eating pupusas. Got the bean and cheese, cheese, and revuelta (mixed). Recommend the revuelta. Also got salvadorian horchata and that was BOMB 🤩🤩 ( I have high standards for horchata because it's my favorite drink).
4. IceQueen. SE Portland. 10/10 @IceQueenpdx on twitter and instagram. Popsicle shop 100% plant based. Tried the Oatchata popsicle (of course). Creamy, flavorful, cinammony, perfect
