next, i'm really thankful to my friends and coworkers who are able to and have been out protesting regularly. @dinoswor and @babyvenom come to mind first but i know there are many more of you.
also grateful to @riotribs for keeping protestors fed and hydrated. if you can, consider volunteering. if you aren't in the streets much right now, consider donating. you can also find a list of supples they need here ( http://bit.ly/riotribs ) and follow them for updates.
this poem, which today is reminding me that the world is still full of things worth noticing, that it's worth it to fight for myself, and sometimes the former might be a doorway into the latter. (thank you @maggiesmithpoet)
this quietly breathtaking moment from the season two finale of SHRILL, a great show that made me miss pre-pandemic Portland very much.
this song/video, which feels like a monument to what it's like to be alive in 2020. confused, lost, drowning, bare glimpses of levity and hope, apocalyptic screams of rage and pain and fear at the end. she's even playing to an empty stadium in the video.

the boundless imagination, the gorgeous colors and animation, and the wise, playful melancholy of ADVENTURE TIME. i know it's a cartoon for children but i'm not kidding when i say it's gotten (and is getting) me through some of the darkest times of my life. my favorite show.
today i went hiking with my oldest friend. we talked some about the pandemic and politics, but mostly about music, tv, video games, our relationships. After, we stood where we'd parked and kept talking for a half hour even though we'd already said goodbye. it almost felt normal.
forgot about this thread and am feeling the need for it! i moved and even though it's taking me longer than i'd hoped to furnish it, i love my apartment so much. it's (at least) pre-1960s and it looks like one of the not-wealthy characters in MAD MEN would've lived in it.
