Hi everyone! First, sorry for the long thread. I want to share a concern of mine about one of the candidates for CCSD District B, Katie Lee Williams.
District B is the northern part of the East Las Vegas, basically everything wedged between Nellis Blvd and Stewart out to the AFB.

Ms. Williams says racist things. We are a very diverse district, and her views would be a step backward for racial justice. Our students and teachers deserve better.
Ms. Williams is highly political, so much so that she was stripped of her Ms. Nevada crown for it. Partisanship should not be the focus, our children should be.
Ms. Williams believes nobody should wear a mask who doesn't want to (in fact she trended as #COVIDKatie a while back).
Ms. Williams seems to be a QAnon conspiracy theorist (a far, far right conspiracy theory with many ties to white supremacy - https://hillreporter.com/qanon-conspiracy-theorist-running-for-school-board-in-nevada-73996.)
It seems that Katie Williams mostly supports school choice and moving money away from the school district. As such, she should not be making decisions for those of us who believe in public education.
To finish up (but if you dig through @realkatiejow tweets you'll find plenty more) Ms. Williams thinks the economy is more important that 1% of our children's lives.

From her comments it is easy to draw the conclusion that Ms. Williams wants to improve access to private (for-profit) schools instead of bettering public (socialist) schools.
I want a Trustee whose ONLY goal is to improve public education.

And to clarify the previous tweet, these are the types of accounts Ms. Williams follows, interacts with, "jokes" with, and by doing so, supports.
