I say this with love, non-judgment, deep concern & as someone who definitely had #adhd as a child that was extremely misunderstood & left untreated until my 30s:

it doesn’t help kids to a ignore or hide their differences trying to make them appear as “normal” as possible...
Kids who are autistic, have adhd or any differences at all need to be seen & validated as they are by their parents & teachers. If we try to hide these differences or pretend like they don’t exist bc we fear our kids won’t fit in, the child will internalize shame for who they are
Further, if we ignore or deny a child’s learning differences or emotional differences, the child will not get the treatment they need to succeed & remain healthy in this brutal world.

They also miss out on meeting peers who get it and may become your child’s REAL friends.
