Pro tips on Touring : I’ve never been on an unsuccessful tour yet and there’s a few things I’d like to share that works for me as a full time SW.
1. Always keep your overhead costs low . I always tour with someone I trust and split the costs of lodging .
2. Always grocery shop for your stay. Frozen dinners are gross but can help you save instead of ordering out everyday . Ask clients who prebook to send you gift cards to grocery stores or delivery apps.
3. DO YOUR MARKET RESEARCH! I like to throw up an ad in the city I’m touring at least a month prior to see what the traffic is like. Some say you should wait until you get prebookings but if the phone is ringing GO.
4. Don’t compare yourself to other girls touring the city you’re in. This industry is full of smoke and mirrors and people LIE. Worry about the business that pays you and you’ll always win.
If the net is dry . FREESTYLE ! It’s kinda hard to do that now with Corona but you never know who you can meet organically so always look your best when stepping out on tour.
Don’t be pressed to meet other providers in the city you’re touring . You’re here to make money not friends. If you do meet up with colleagues make it about networking and networking only. In my experience some girls just want to meet you to size you up and who needs that ???
