Minor fallacies which I shall correct here.

LHGs are usually dominated by a parallel male society- a Warriors' Hut & a Shaman. Older males often have multiple wives while junior males have fewer or only one. This is on account of high male mortality. Kids are brought up communally, though paternal investment is still high.
EHGs were VERY different.
Most men- as much as 94%- died at a very young age as incels, often killed by their father-uncles.

Somehow- miraculously, humans began to gather & organise in vast numbers, while still being Hunter Gatherers who required massive territories to live in.
The level of Organizational complexity is scarcely believable.

He has territory, within 3 days march of his troops. So, a circle of a rough radius of 42 kilometres. Assuming 50% arable & density of 40, he has around 110K peasants under him.
They can supply him with around 250 warriors & tradesmen.

So, the Gupta warlord can sanction stuff like multistorey buildings, trade, jewellery, temples, art, etc etc. If called for war, he can bring 100-200 warriors to fight for him.
All this in exchange for 3 days march on foot.

At Gobleki tepe, the manpower estimates require more than 70K people. At 1 person per sq km- which is a high density for HGs, that requires manpower from a radius of 150 Km across.
Any HG "warlord" would have to go around for 20 days march to ensure Control over this land.

Secondly- in a time when gathering berries was the primary contributor of calories, this population managed to transport & store Sno GH quantities to keep a massive worker population working at this 1 site.
It'd be an incredible feat for Agrarian ones. It's unbelievable for HGs.
