1/ The federal government should offer a national version of the validated 'blue checkmark' programs on Fb, Insta, Twitter, etc - This would have a massively positive impact on digital speech because it would be a way to know who is a real unique American citizen and who is not
2/ It isn't much of a leap technically or practically for the government to take from the digital IDs offered via programs like Global Entry, & so long as it was optional is hard for anyone to object. It is strictly a benefit which requires nearly zero complexity or regulation
3/ It is downright crazy & an abdication that the government hasn't figured out how to offer Americans 'passports' to the digital world so they prove who they are & identify each-other. But, happily it is easy to fix. Here is the plan: http://thein.fo/2c25d47262b06236
