Trump and the Right have created a fake crisis of “violence in Democratic cities” to distract from very real crises in the pandemic and the economy.

They’re going to shred the Constitution, kidnap people off the streets, and craft an authoritarian state. It’s coming.

The narrative is clear and it’s the same story the Right has been telling for years. Democrats are either weak or traitorous.

The new wrinkle is Trump declaring that they should not be allowed to govern. It was inevitable considering the attacks, but it purely fascist.

What people don't understand is that fascism and authoritarianism doesn't always happen based on a plan or even organized planning.

It's reactionary. It follows a narrative, a building mythology. It's escalating, predictably, as he faces plummeting numbers.
