frankly been really disappointed by the fanbase as i have seen a recurring pattern of the treatment of players like callum, tammy, even rudiger, the reaction by the fanbase has just been uncalled for. if you could keep reading it would mean a lot to me and most black people tbh.
callum hudson-odoi got a contract in which his AGENT got him, and he would have been way more expensive if he went to bayern. peopel tend to forget how good you would have to be in our squad literally a bit over a year ago to get a chance as a youth player, callum did this at 17.
do you know what that requires? hard work, a massive capacity of mental strength, focus to not get distracted by other factors which teenagers have, etc. he is a massive talent and people forget we are lucky to even have him.
none of these factors indicates a bad attitude to me, if you even know any pro football players they are very down to earth when it comes to this grind because thatâs what the football industry is, once again doesnât indicate bad attidude!
pulisic complained to the media about how much game time he was getting, calum hasnât done this once, yet callum has the bad attidude? neither of them have such a thing clearly, however why is this the narrative for callum? tammy also criticised for this, do you know them?
for me this is a clear problem of systematic and institutionalised racism being integrated into each other, and it hurts as a black person because this is what we always have to experience in modern day live, can you imagine how it is for black football players? the media? etc.
it needs to stop, people need to realise the difference between a criticism on someoneâs footballing ability/performance and take that with CONTEXT (which people donât do on this platform either way but thatâs for another day) and purely making a blind take and it turning into
a narrative which then becomes a âpopularâ opinion within the fanbase. he has made a mistake recently, just like many 19 year olds, but as fans what we should be doing is supporting him and him growing from this, trust the process. believe in callum, you wonât be disappointed.
