Levi really had just lost one of the most important figures in his life and yet here he was making sure to comfort everyone else, I love this man so much and my heart breaks for him everyday.
It makes me think of how much suffering and torment Levi has had to carry all by himself for YEARS and he still goes out of his way to comfort his comrades and repeatedly puts them before himself.
Since Erwin’s death/timeskip I personally feel that we’ve definitely seen Levi deteriorate mentally, especially when you take in regards Isayama having said he’s “like a balloon dangling in the air”. Considering the immense suffering he’s endured all his life, it’s no surprise.
Levi has now been hideously injured and that in turn will only have added more pain to his mental state.
He’s in a vulnerable position, and thus I do wonder if we’ll see more of that vulnerability, in regards to his mental state, when/if we finally get his POV. Considering he’s been silent for a while now, I definitely think there’s big things coming for him.
“No regrets” has been a philosophy of Levi’s’ for all of the story. To have him actually delve into regrets and perhaps come to terms with the fact he may v well have some or many, would be a big change for his character and I personally think that would be v interesting to see.
^ it’s a twist in his beliefs and it’s a twist in what he’s been ‘using’ to keep himself going all these years (amongst other things ofc), how he’d react to losing this philosophy (if he does) or looking deeper into “no regrets”, would be intriguing.
Amongst that. Levi is never one to bullshit around, he doesn’t like slithering around corners, he likes to get things done. Levi being extremely hellbent on fulfilling his mission of killing Zeke, shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. (Along with the events between the two ofc).
Whether or not you not you think it’s ruining Levi’s character is up to you and whether or not you think he should abandon this mission is up to you. I personally sit 50/50. However it’s not like it makes no sense for him to still be going down this route.
^ Like I said, considering what’s happened between the two and what he lost as a result, along with how Levi’s way of thinking (no nonsense etc). I also personally find it hard to believe he’d WILLINGLY drop the promise. Certainly not without some sort of great epiphany-
Or it comes down to him literally having NO CHOICE other than to let it go.
^ in turn, that would be interesting as well. I certainly wonder how Levi would handle such a thing and how he would handle letting go and coming to accept that. It would definitely cause him hurt, dismay and probably great anger.
I need to make my lunch lmao, so in conclusion, I am greatly looking forward to hearing from Levi again and seeing what his character goes on to do. Again, I think big/interesting things are definitely on the way for Levi.
Let me correct myself, using the term “doesn’t bullshit around” fits this thread POORLY. The fact that the RUMBLING of all things is going on and he’s hoping to chase Zeke (who is the least of their worries) is off putting. For sure. I understand that.
