Can I tell you guys a Story? A story that goes back a long time ago, where 3D printing didn't exist, and it was all about cardboard and foam core. I was 5 years old, and this is a thread that will try to awaken that inner child in you. Feel free to comment or RT ❤️ (Thread)
I have been crafting stuff for as long as I can remember. From model railroad systems to war games and scenery. The floor was my table, my cutting mat (ouch sorry Dad). It was my jam! That's my brother (top left) and me (top right) after growing our Lord of The Rings armies❤️.
And this here was one of the first projects with our Dad, a huge railroad system. I remember making over 50 trees out of wire (classic) and my brother making an entire street light circuit with the Christmas Tree lights and straws! RIP Xmas Tree, cause we used the leaves too!
I also remember carving rocks, making folliage, painting rivers, trying (lol) to make houses. There was something that always bugged me, I didn't have all the resources I wanted. After an engineering degree, two master's in 3D art, and the same inner child, I AWAKENED again.
It happened when I saw what a 3D printer could do. All my memories, all my ideas, all my wishes came back and became true. Now I could make ANYTHING I wanted, big or small, with technical difficulty or without! A new world!!
So for the past 4 months, I've had the pleasure of working with two incredible artists featured in the first pic of the thread (Ana and @dmartyblanco ) and our 3D modeling teacher, at Kraken Studios on what is becoming that inner child project we always wanted to do but couldn't.
This thread is not to self promote, I will just leave the link here for anyone who wants to read everything and see everything or support us ❤️ http://kickstarter.com/projects/257252755/kraken-fantasy-stadiums . Wanna see a video of everything we have printed so far? Next tweet!
Our stadiums grow by the minute, we have already sculpted and printed two and a half completely modular stadiums for blood bowl of any other game or diorama we want to make. @testedcom @donttrythis
We try our best to make everything as functional and modular as we can, so it's both easy to swap pieces and it looks cool. It's all those ideas we had as kids, wouldn't be cool if? Letting our imagination run free!
Also trying to make super funny miniatures. It makes us laugh so hard. I'm supper happy with all this.
And last thoughts. Please, follow your passions, if you have an itch for something you want to make, make it. No matter your medium, whether it's 3D printing or by hand. What's important is that you are making your inner child happy! Continue for last tweet ❤️.
