This is a true narrative I experienced in 2012 while I was in Lagos.
A girl (around 15-17yrs old) that is a neighbour fainted/collapse as a result of slap from her father, many people rushed to her, some poured water on her, some brought out metals spoon to put in her mouth.
Her mum & siblings started crying, people don't know what to do. I got there, I told people to move back to ventilate her, I laid her down straight on her back, loosened her shirt and then perform CPR procedure on her for about 3 min. After a while during the CPR, she sneezed...
& came back to life, then I told her folks to take her to the hospital. People were looking at me like a saviour, like I did something extraordinary (I was also scared during the CPR) whereas it's just a procedure I had learn during HSE professional course I took during my NYSC.
Morale of this thread;
Many people in Nigeria are not expose to and do not know about first aid procedure during emergencies and it is so sad. First-aid education is also suppose to be part of our school/NYSC curriculum.
Please learn basic first-aid procedure, it's necessary
