/ Wow! This really blew up. Thank you all for reading and sharing.

While I have your attention, allow me to share a few (by no means exhaustive) ideas on what you (and I) can do to take down this beast that is institutional colonialism that persists in global health.

/ Firstly it goes without saying that you should do the exact opposite of what I describe in the article. Every example in there is based on my own personal observations and we must do better. It applies not only to academia but practice and international development in general.
/ I've received so many messages from many saying they will include this as part of pre-course reading for their students. This is wonderful! Might I add that even more than adding this to your list of reading, please teach your students and fellows by example.
/ Funding may be the single biggest driver of inequity in global health research and practice. GH funders must reevaluate their grant funding processes. Grants to "south" institutions and let them choose collabs based on expertise they bring to the table and not cash they bring.
/ Perhaps most importantly, to my fellow global health researchers and practitioners in/from LMICs, speak up and speak truth! We must be more vocal about these imbalances and injustices that persists in global health. Global Health will not decolonize itself!
