it does seem very strange that people are suddenly cool with ethno-nationalism if it’s for indigenous people, and white nationalists were pretty smart for taking advantage of this to try and get people on board with their bullshit
of course, saying these indigenous nationalists are the same thing as white nationalists is a bad comparison
white nationalists aren’t defending french or italian culture or whatever, they’re defending the legacy of colonialism, the “white” identity, while in contrast the indigenous groups are defending a real culture
the issue is, if you do believe everyone should shed the “shackles of tradition” and embrace a cosmopolitan world, you can’t suddenly make an exception for indigenous people
