The visitors who were put into bat on a green surface, were in a commandable position when #Cook nicked a ripper from Ishant to @msdhoni. Score read 72/4..

..when #MoeenAli joined @root66. The partnership was worth 84 runs. However, with new ball 8 overs away and lunch on the brink, Dhoni hands over the ball to @ImIshant for one last burst. The start though was not the best one as Root smashed a full ball down the ground..

.. then to covers and then a widish delivery to backward point. The partnership reached 98 in a flash. The over conceded 14 runs! The ghost of Johannesburg and Wellington were haunting us again. Can India break free? Or will this match turn out to another upset for us?

Dhoni knew that too. He goes and has a word with Ishant. As an Indian fan, this meant relief. The over was probably the last over before lunch. India needed a lift and the 1st ball of the over cleared all the doubts about the tactics Dhoni and Ishant might have spoken off!

The ball was banged in short and directed towards the body. Root defends. 2nd ball, ditto but even better. Root survives. 3rd one, on the body (Yeah! Tall lanky INDIAN bowler using bodyline tactics!) Root runs to the non-striker end. 3 balls to survive. Moeen on strike. Ish

The routine follows. Banged in short, batsmen defends. 2 balls are done. Last one to go. @ImIshant.bowls one more on the body but this time, the ball rises at an uncomfortable height which means Moeen finds it hard to keep it down. Gloves it to short leg. India roar back.

Post lunch, India were even more sure of what their plans were. They deployed @MdShami11. from one end and @ImIshant. from the other! 2 overs of short ball barrage fiddled with @MattPrior13's head who pulls one to deep mid wicket. Disaster for @ECB_cricket. Exhilarated @BCCI.

Everyone on the ground knew the plan now. Eng players knew the plans now. Indian Commentators were elated to see the plan work as they kept shouting "The plan has worked!" after Prior's dismissal. It was, however, one of those days where Eng could do nothing but bow down!

The wicket of @MattPrior13, fiddled with all the batters. @benstokes38, @root66, @StuartBroad8 all succumb. Stokes and Root even tried to put the plan off by attacking Ishant's bouncers but only to make a mockery off themselves.

@ImIshant had 7 on his name. India had the test. This became the 2nd time when Ind won a test in Lord's. Ishant's inngs figure 7-74 became the 4th best among Indian seamers in an away game (in terms of inngs). This win was special. It made Eng treat us with respect..

This thread is an attempt to remember one such performance by doing what the world thought we cannot and yes, @ImIshant was the architect to it. Thank you.
