This is a serious and fundamental misunderstanding of how anything works and should be completely ignored.

The map, which is to July 12, puts Ireland and Spain mostly in the same colour.

Cases last 3 days:

Spain: 4,581
Ireland: 36

I'll elaborate for you. https://twitter.com/DavQuinn/status/1285325097465786373
What that ECDC map shows is 14-day incidence of cases, with the base level being <20.

19.98 per 100,000 is coloured the same as 0.02 per 100,000.

In Irish terms:

-19.98 per 100,000 is 71 cases every day
-0.02 per 100,000 is 1 case every 2 weeks.

Those are not the same thing.
They're not even close to the same thing, even when you break it down into per capita:

Last 3 days:

Spain: 487
Ireland: 36

That's almost 14 times more cases per capita in a 3-day period.

I'd personally be despondent + miserable if Ireland went back to 162 cases every day.
The European average, in Irish terms, is around 66 cases per day. That's over triple our average.

None of that translates to "European infection rates are low in almost all of Europe" as you claimed.

Unless your definition of low is 500 new Irish cases every week. No thanks.
I suppose what I'm suggesting is you're talking absolute pony and it'd be great if you didn't do that.

Most of Europe will not make our Green List because their infection is far higher.

Spain had 400 lads at a party in Cordoba, at least 170 cases linked to it, 83 directly.
The purpose of a Green List is for actual experts to tell us what countries are safe.

Public Health leaders know that Irish people are human beings; and want to make sure if we ignore their advice, that we travel to somewhere safe, so we don't end up in an ICU somewhere.
Our doctors, nurses, porters, receptionists, cleaning staff, refuse collectors, GP's, medical scientists, ambulance crews, carers, caterers...

They're mentally, physically, existentially bolloxed and not ready for a resurgence, influenced by people talking shite on Twitter.
I'm responding to someone who advised his followers that all of Europe is safe, based on "yellow map is good" 🙄
