just bc it’s hallmarked doesn’t mean it’s high quality, there’s a huge difference between turquoise grades as well as obvious dupes for certain stones.
also as a note to new collectors: generally, look for stones that have matrix. solid color stones are often times block turquoise, aka mostly plastic and dye.

also, silver quality matters. buy sterling as often as you can. steer clear of nickel and nickel plated!
one more tip since I see it allll the time:

white buffalo has an artificial dupe many advertise incorrectly - howlite.

white buffalo will have darker, mostly black contrast. howlite is cloudy with thin gray matrix patterns.

howlite is NOT expensive. do not pay big $ for it.
