something i loved about #TheLastofUsPartII was the way dina and owen acted as a constant reminder to rethink decisions. they both put decisions into question, but remained loyal. both, ellie and abby did not want to hear about the other side, feel sympathy or look for reasons 1/5
abby gets to learn faster then ellie, that her selfish vendetta destroyed more then it actually fixed. it stood between her and owen and later on also between her and the new life which owen was going to build for his new family (mel, the child & the aquarium). 2/5
she lost them all & the same would have happend to yara and lev. i love how abby's nightmare about having two more innocent dead people in the same "room" her dad is trapped in brought change, bc she finally would blame herself for loosing them too. how her focus shifted. 3/5
i also loved the similarities between her and lev at the end compared to joel and ellie from part 1. ellie basically lost all the people who wanted to help her throughout the journey of part II, too - at the end also dina and their new life with jj at the farm. 4/5
ellies two missing fingers may be interpreted differently, but for me they stand for joel and herself. as manifested by both of them singing "if I ever were to lose you, i'd surely lose myself", at the end she had to pay a high price to finally let go. joel and herself. 5/5 ❤️
