My thinking about Kanye is wholly sympathetic but complicated. I used to listen to him 15 yrs ago, but had to stop w MDTF. I recognized the musical accomplishment, but it was just so ugly and wrong.

So I was both glad for his own conversion and excited to get to like him again.
His Christianity seems to be for real, and that is awesome. It's not even the trendy kind. It's dorky and awkward but also serious. And Jesus is King has some legit good songs. So that's all love.

The president thing, well...
He's obvs not in a place where a national campaign would be good. He needs to settle down, and that will take years. His ideas aren't actually crazy but he needs stability.

It's hard to say if he's "unwell." He seems more well than he has been in a long time. But he's delicate
He's an emotional guy with bipolar, and that is why he can do what he does. But it's also a disorder that will do damage.

He's also surrounded by a community of celebrities who are themselves not well. Their standard for normal is totally insane. It's a tough spot.
I doubt the Kardashians share Ye's new prolife values. They probably took great offense at him talking about private stuff. And the kind of weakness and vulnerability he showed can only be deeply disturbing to Hollywood.
I wouldn't want my sanity to be judged by that sort of world's standard.

But at the same time, Kanye has joined that world and continues to live a reality-show life. This is deeply unhealthy.

He needs to take some time in Wyoming, without the cameras and without the phone.
It's hard to think of him as a person and not a character. But if we are gonna celebrate his faith, then we should also want what's best for him, what's really best for him.

It would be tragic if he flamed out bc of all this. He needs good, normal people to be real friends.
And he needs God's protection.

The good news is, in Christ Kanye has that. May he persevere to the end. May his fans truly pray for him. May these trials prove to make him more perfect in the Spirit.
